Comprised of more than 70 employee-owners across five (5) North Dakota locations including: Bismarck, West Fargo, Grand Forks, Minot & Dickinson, we are currently serving the entire state of North Dakota, Northwestern Minnesota, Eastern Montana and Northeastern South Dakota.

What Is Net Promoter?

Net Promoter Score®, or NPS®, measures customer experience and predicts business growth. This proven metric transformed the business world and now provides the core measurement for customer experience management programs the world round.

Many companies claim that they have the "Best Service in the Business", but few even have a way to measure how happy customers are.  Here at Advanced Business Methods, we have a system that allows us to capture feedback after every service call.  We use the Net Promoter Score system.

We calculate our NPS using the answer to a key question, using a 0-10 scale: How likely is it that you would recommend Advanced Business Methods to a friend or colleague?

Respondents are grouped as follows:

  • Promoters (score 9-10) are loyal enthusiasts who will keep buying and refer others, fueling growth.
  • Passives (score 7-8) are satisfied but unenthusiastic customers who are vulnerable to competitive offerings.
  • Detractors (score 0-6) are unhappy customers who can damage your brand and impede growth through negative word-of-mouth.

Subtracting the percentage of Detractors from the percentage of Promoters yields the Net Promoter Score, which can range from a low of -100 (if every customer is a Detractor) to a high of 100 (if every customer is a Promoter).

ABM uses our NPS as the key measure of our customers’ overall perception of our company. We value our business partners, and employ these metrics to make your sales, service, and support experiences with ABM, as positive as possible.



Our History
Advanced Business Methods began business in 1971.

From then to now has been a great ride. Advanced Business Methods is proud of it's history and how we have evolved to continue to take care of our valued clients.

Historical Timeline

1971 - ABM began business in West Fargo, ND 

1972 - Expanded business into Grand Forks 

1976 - Moved West Fargo headquarters to 13th Ave. (first business between the City of West Fargo and West Acres Mall) 

Advanced Business Methods 13th Avenue BuildingInside of Advanced Business Methods in 1976.

1981 - Ken Retzer purchases Grand Forks and West Fargo locations from Founder, separating the Eastern ND and Western ND stores

1996 - Celebrated 25 years 

Updates done on the Advanced Business Methods building completed in 1996.

2000 - ABM acquires OMF, making ABM a North Dakota State-Wide operation again

2012 - Sold its shares to the employees, becoming a 100% ESOP

2021 - Celebrates 50 years
